Much of the game is focused on collaborative creation of the setting and scenario. In addition, players collaboratively create numerous minor characters in the narrative (persons who would be considered non-player character in a more traditional game). Action resolution uses a 2d6 mechanism, though there are several variations on this - the colony exists in a particular state known as "spin". Spin means when things are good, they tend to get better but when things are bad, they tend to get worse. Depending on the state of Spin, the die roll may use different mechanics.
