Characters in the game are defined by Traits. Traits have a rating from one to five; they are purchased from a small points pool at creation. Traits function "on dream-logic", so they are somewhat variable in performance. A Trait's rating determines the size of the dice pool associated with the trait.
During play, characters accumulate Lightning Points (vaguely like experience points). Once sufficient Lightning Points are accumulated, the characters can use them to Escape From Dreamland. Escape must be performed with the entire party.
