Characters are defined by Traits and Skills. Characters can also have Abilities (e.g., "photographic" memory, etc.), Conditions (e.g., "Bad Reputation", "Exhaustion", etc.) and Relationships. Skills, whether physical or Knowledge based, are used to modify card draws during action resolution. The game uses a stripped pack of French playing cards for these draws; a custom card deck is used to generate narrative events (provided as a print-and-play component in the document).
The game assumes the setting will be collaboratively created, then specified by the game master.
