An Afternoon of Terror
From the introduction:
Ingoldstat, 1818. The characters are laboratory assistants of a certain Dr. Franeknstein. The doctor is a genius in his field, and is determined to create life. The characters, his long-term assistants, are convinced not only that the objective is possible, but that it would be an unique breakthrough for science and humanity. And therefore, in this case at least, the end justifies the means.
The local population despises the characters. The characters are dismayed by the overwhelming ignorance of the locals.
