From publisher blurb:
Cartel is an RPG of Mexican narcofiction Powered by the Apocalyse, a combination of Breaking Bad, The Wire, and El Mariachi from Mark Diaz Truman, one of the creators of Urban Shadows. In Cartel, you take on the role of someone tied to the Sinaloa Cartel, trying to stay alive in an increasingly dangerous game of drugs, money, and power.
The Sinaloa Cartel is the largest drug trafficking organization in the world, a sprawling network of narcos, halcones, y sicarias that moves billions of dollars of drugs into Los Estados Unidos each year. One of their prime holdings is Durango, Mexico, a small city ten hours south of the border that's a crucial way station for anything moving north.
But holding the city ain't easy: either la policía gets in the way, or some foolish pendejo thinks he can pull one over on the putos that run Durango for los jefe de jefes. And don't even get me started on Los Zetas...
You want in, cabrón? Fine by me. Just know that once you're in...there's no turning back.
The version presented here is a quickstart version with updated basic rules and 6 playbooks, along with the basic setting information you need in order to play. With this quickstart you can easily play a couple sessions of Cartel, enough to get mixed up in all the goings on in Durango.
