The Living Fantasy Realm presents fairly traditional LARP rules for a light fantasy genre game. The most-distinctive feature is the use of different rules for "the discerning commoner" and "those of noble blood". Players must also select a class from mage, priest, fighter, knight, scout, ranger, thief, or assassin. Players may also select a non-human race.
Combat uses padded "boffer" type weapons. Casters cast spells either by touching opponents or throwing a "foci". A variety of (nonplayer) "monsters" are envisioned for the play space.
The core rules are presented in a single document which is sub-divided into short, topical "pamphlets", each suitable for print-and-play use.
