Few people are as insular and secretive as the Huank. Known only sparingly across the countryside and largely written off as jest or drunken rumor, this race of sentient waterfowl congregates in remote waterways and the outskirts of small permanent settlements, quite happily maintaining the illusion that their small flocks are just a part of the quaint scenery. It is suspected that they are a created race, beginning as simple geese resting in the moat of a wizard or alchemist’s tower until being uplifted by some unrecorded accident or experiment. Now, the Huank take advantage of their visual similarity to the common goose, while being extremely intent on
avoiding their cousin’s fate as a solstice dinner.
