From the publishers blurb:
"A very good and scary adventure in an unusual setting. [...] The layout and the art are excellent, too." - Umberto P.
The Year is 1564.
A group of Western explorers reach Japan on board Portuguese vessels, lured by the promise of adventure, fame, and riches. What awaits them on the ghastly island of Takashima, however, is a much darker tale...
Grudge Immortal is a fantasy-horror adventure set in Sengoku era Japan, and deeply rooted in historical and literary research, as well as my love for Japanese horror. Contrary to most "oriental adventures", this module is designed around a group of western PCs, barely knowing the local language and unfamiliar with the land and its customs. The book's introduction covers the historical setting and premise, which means you don't need to be a Japanese history nerd to actually run this thing.
It is a full-color, 40 pages module fit for a group of 2nd level characters. I have playtested this with groups of 2, 3, and 4 players: the two-players group was the only one to survive.
The adventure is written for compatibility with Lamentations of the Flame Princess, but you should be able to run it with most OSR rulesets!
Note: this adventure contains several elements that some players and Referees might find uncomfortable, including gore, violence, and implied violence on children.
