Listening Station is intended for use as a high-tech modern facility or in near to far-future science fiction games. As an isolated location in the wilderness, it can also be useful in horror games.

Intercepted Transmission: The personnel at the listening outpost have recently discovered a communication signal with a disturbing sequence of what sounds like sizzling and popping sounds of varying pitch. While trying to make sense of this message, the doors suddenly open and objects float around the room. The scared scientists send a distress call before the radio cuts out.
The group, playing as a rescue squad of marines, is flown in via helicopter as close as the pilots can reach but they have to hoof it the rest of the way through a forest to reach the remote listening station. When they arrive at the listening station, the satellite antenna is intact but they see the listening station’s doors are ajar. Inside the listening station, the computers are crushed and their wires and circuits litter the floor. The scientists are dead; their skulls have been cracked open and their brains splatter the walls and table of their shared quarters. And then the doors close shut, sealing the marines inside the station…
