From publisher blurb:
“Of all the places for the car to break down here in the middle of nowhere... Let’s see if we can’t get some help from someone in that cabin up ahead.” —Stranded Motorist muttering to himself
Bend in the Road includes a single level exterior map of a road that bends in an S-shape as it winds through a temperate forest region and an interior map of a small brick building on the side of the road at the bend.
Bend in the Road is intended for use in modern games. The brick dwelling could be used as a survival shelter in a post-apocalyptic game or as a psychotic killer’s house where he picks off people that wander into his territory in a horror game.
Adventure hook for use with this map:
The Killer at the Bend: When a motorist’s car broke down on the road, he knocked at a cabin on the side of the road for help. A man in the cabin answered the door and said he would help the motorist. The man from the cabin led him to his old pickup truck nearby parked in front of a broken down garage. The man from the cabin tried starting his old pickup to drive it to the motorist’s car for a jump but it wouldn’t start. The motorist looked into the bed of the pickup truck and saw dried black and red blood splashed on the tarp covering the bed. As the motorist turned around, the man from the cabin got out of the truck and pushed the motorist into the bed of his truck. The man from the cabin slashed the motorist in the throat and continued piercing him with precise strikes meant to prolong his inevitable death. The motorist tried to scream from his severed vocal chords but it came out as nothing but a gurgle until he was silent forever.
The player characters are playing police officers or detectives investigating the disappearance of the motorist. When the car is found abandoned along the side of the road and its license plate number is reported, the group heads to the area to investigate the scene…
