NGS is an adventure setting for Trav/Cepheus Engine, but it should be easy to adapt to other sci-fi rule systems as well. The rules presented here are a solo or GM-less framework for telling a story of exploration, discovery, mysteries, and survival. It kind of plays like Oregon Trail (if it was an RPG set in space.) You have a crew, equipments, specialists, and a mission.
The PDF includes info on setting up your ship, selecting a mission, tips on solo play, a large 'encounter table' of pregenerated star system, and rosters for all the crew (pilot, navigator, engineer, and gunner) and a large list of patrons and mission specialists, as well as four subsector maps for your exploring.
