"The little girl hid under the bedclothes and clutched her rag doll for comfort. From downstairs she could the shouts and screams of her parents as they valiantly tried to fight off the Beastmen. The unequal struggle did not last long. A few moments of silence were followed by the sound of heavy footsteps and rasping breath approaching up the stairs. A few seconds later there was a loud crash as the door was smashed open...
"In middenheim, He waited. Eventually, there was a knock at the door and a woman entered the room. 'Well?' He asked. she approached the throne and knelt before Him, her eyes lowered. 'Magister Magistri, Chosen One of the Great Mutator,' she began, 'they have her. She is safe and unharmed.' the man's lips stretched in a smile that was belied by the cruel glint in his eyes as he allowed himself a sigh of satisfaction. 'So it begins,' he said, 'so it begins.'"
