From the Introduction

This game was written to emulate a movie that does not exist. This movie would combine the dark, cynical style of a noir crime drama with the larger-than-life heroics of a pulp adventure and give the whole package the glossy presentation of a Hong Kong action flick. It would have running tommy-gun battles, bar brawls set to swing music, trench coats, fedoras, and even a little kung-fu fightin'!
