Pierre Djada Lacroix (born April 18, 1950 in Hull, Quebec, Canada) is a Canadian comic artist, illustrator of science fiction and fantasy, singer-songwriter, guitarist, and a writer from Quebec.
This quarterly 'zine, published by David Berman in Ottawa, Canada, quickly made it's name with it's criticism of TSR. In fact, none other than Gary Gygax himself rebuked The Apprentice in an article written in Dragon Magazine #22.
Berman wrote most of the articles himself and sought to create a meta-system that combined the best attributes of all current RPGs. He called this hybrid MFRP (Medieval Fantasy Role Playing). The 'zine also contained a number of articles featuring the fantasy RPGs of the day.
The Apprentice had a reputation of producing good content and thoughtful reviews. Issues tended to include a scenario.
Note: This is not the same person as French comic artist Pierre Lacroix (1912-1994).
