Just who the hell am I? Am I an itinerant pervert? A post-modern anti-hero? A random demographic sampling? It's often easier to say what I'm not, but let's have a go at the affirmative.
The Gaming Guy
I was introduced to the world of tabletop RPGs in 1978, thanks to the gift of Dungeons & Dragons which I received from my brother. I started wargaming in 1986 (For The Emperor!) and have never stopped either one.
The Writer Guy
I started working professionally as a freelancer in the game industry in 1998. In the employ of West End Games, I worked with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game as a developer. When that company went bankrupt and seemingly forgot to pay me, I moved on to Avalon Hill and then FASA - who both went belly up after I started freelancing for them. Take that for what it's worth. I've also written and consulted for Image Comics.
What I do
My profession by trade is a teacher - I teach everything from Mathematics to English (with a whole lot in between) to kids from 1st to 9th grade. It's the most rewarding, meaningful job that I've ever had in my life. The feeling I get when I make a breakthrough with a student is one of the best things in life...
...well that, along with crushing my enemies, seeing them driven before me, and hearing the lamentation of the women.
