From the Company Website:
Founded in 2012, The Onyx Path is a Pennsylvania-based company dedicated to the development of exemplary, immersive worlds. Working with a group of amazingly talented creators, we explore print, electronic and other forms of media distribution to make our products available to our fans.
The Onyx Path staff are united in our common background with White Wolf Publishing and we will continue to supplement those famous product settings with new releases, while adding to the industry with brand-new concepts for game play. We are lucky to include ENnie, GAMA and other award-winning creatives as contributors to our upcoming release schedule. Their commitment to quality reflects the goal of The Onyx Path and the reason for our existence.
With over 20 years of publishing experience from which to draw, we are industry professionals who love the art of the game and plan to continue making meaningful, innovative contributions in the years to come.
User Summary:
Following the 2006 merger between White Wolf and CCP, the production of WW's tabletop role-playing games slowed down due mainly to a general market downturn. From 2011 a new company was formed, Onyx Path led by Richard Thomas, officially announced at GenCon in August 2012.
Onyx Path is independent of CCP and White Wolf (WW), and has the rights to publish WW's tabletop titles: Classic World of Darkness, Exalted, and Chronicles of Darkness (all still owned by White Wolf). Conversely, Onyx Path now completely own Scion and Trinity Universe, and will develop new titles such as Cavaliers of Mars.
