My experience in print and electronic publishing goes back to 1987, and ranges from writing and editing, through design and lay-out, to production and pre-press. As a result of my broad experience, I am able to handle a wide variety of tasks and projects with confidence and ability. Drawing on many years of experience with industry-leading software, I can take an assignment from raw manuscript or specifications to finished source files or PDF quickly and professionally. I possess a complete studio, including a Mac Pro, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat), QuarkXPress, scanner, and high-speed Internet access for telecommuting.
I use clean, accessible design and lay-out to convey the client’s message clearly and precisely to readers. Exacting attention to detail and an excellent command of printed and spoken English — grammar, punctuation, spelling, and typography — help ensure vivid, unambiguous communication of that message, whatever it may be.
As part of a commitment to putting the customer first and foremost, I keep up a high standard of professionalism and make a strong effort to establish and maintain smooth working relationships. In addition, familiarity with a broad variety of subjects and the special typographical needs associated with those topics, including units of measure and other often-overlooked nuances, ease understanding and reduce confusion when discussing the specific requirements or unusual demands of a particular discipline.
