The concept of DSA soundtracks
Briefly: to provide DSA Soundtracks:
- composing soundtracks exclusively for DSA-adventures
- Fantasy orchestral music
- custom-fit scene background
- Use of recurring themes and leitmotifs
- Soundtracks on CD or download
The from the under "The idea of" made considerations described concept developed for DSA soundtrack looks like this:
It is composed of customized soundtracks for selected DSA-adventures from the publishing program of FanPro. This is usually done in advance of the appearance of an adventure in collaboration with the authors. Such an optimal matching between the scene and music is guaranteed.
Event Music and Loops
Role-play scenes often are divided into two parts: the GM will initially have a situation, sometimes with the aid of a reading text.
Afterwards the heroes react. The first phase is somewhat time-defined and controllable, whereas the second phase can theoretically take several hours or a few minutes. This situation is exactly reproduced in DSA soundtracks. The appropriate role-playing scene is introduced by a so-called "music event", which merges seamlessly into a piece that you can put "on repeat." These pieces are called "loops".
The game master also finds visual marks in the adventure to the use of a specific track.
Topics and themes
In film soundtracks, opera and other classical music it is customary to work with musical themes and leitmotifs. Such recurring elements provide for re-identification effects and strengthen the "cohesion" of great works. All DSA soundtrack work with such structures. The theme of the villain in the currently played adventure is always present in music when the heroes meet himself, his henchmen or other evidence of hisexistence.
There will also be more generic themes such as a "Praios" theme or "Almada" theme. that can occur in all DSA soundtracks.
