From Living Spycraft MRD V1.7: GC Info:
In Nest, the Agency suffers a massive schism, splintering the organization into two primary factions, one led by Intelligence Division and the other led by Operations Division. At this point, all agents choose a side or go rogue, becoming freelance operatives. In the following weeks, the agents discover that Intelligence Division seeks to find, capture, and control enemy resources, while the Operations Division seeks to undermine and destroy them.
Following Operation Snow Pigeon, a mysterious informant calling himself Paradox supports a massive multi-Division and freelance effort to infiltrate a Russian shadow cell controlled by an enemy organization known as "The Franchise." As the agents soon learn, this shadow cell operates within a legitimate world defense organization known as The Krypt.
During the infiltration - which is a long-term operation involving literally every Living Spycraft agent in existence - the agents undertake some missions for the good of the world and other missions to gain standing within the shadow cell. The former are typical Living Spycraft events involving heroic missions and deeds, while the latter often involve dubious goals and conflicting mission objectives as the agents balance their dedication to world safety with pleasing their criminal superiors.
All of this forms the backbone for the first major Living Spycraft storyline season, Terrortory, which ran from January to August 2005.
