Star Wars (FFG) is the system used in Fantasy Flight Games' three Star Wars related titles: Star Wars: Edge of the Empire, Star Wars: Age of Rebellion, and Star Wars: Force and Destiny. The system features a dice pool mechanic (designed around a custom set of dice) that indicates not only success or failure at a particular task, but whether that success or failure comes with a special price, or some future advantage. This allows for more interpretive input from the players and also gives the system a slant toward narration and fast and loose game play. Destiny Points add to this mix by allowing the players and the GM to influence dice pools, and in some case, to allow the use of uncanny Force powers.
Star Wars (FFG) also feature an extensive set of career paths organized around talent trees, where players must work toward purchasing more and better talents as they gain experience. Players also grow their characters by purchasing increased levels with their many possible skills.
Even though the various core games focus on different aspects of the Star Wars universe, they are all meant to be compatible and share common characteristics, skills, and many talents.
