Inspired by Bifford's post in an existing QOTD thread:

Which RPGs do you enjoy as a player but dislike as a GM (or vice versa)?

Is there a game you really want to like and you're willing to give it multiple sessions?

When rating an older game do you rate it for the times? Or as if you were resurrecting it for play today?

Inspired by a quick line in this review about illusionism.

My question is this, when should a dm use illusionism? when should the princess be in a fixed castle and when should she be in the last castle the players look in?

How much 'game' do you want in your RPG?

How important is it the players believe that, if they make the wrong choices and/or have terrible luck, they could fail a mission?

Assuming they haven't done anything stupid, how often should a character die in a typical fantasy game?

Should death be more common in some genres than others?

Have your players ever complained that games don't have enough PC death?

With all the talk of avoiding illusionism or dice fudging, and letting the players drive the game, it's clear that part of a GM's job is making sure the players are entertained. How much responsibility do players have to make sure the GM is too?

What do you desire the most out of an RPG, in-game?

Puzzles?
Combat?
Loot?
Exploring?
Something else entirely?

Maybe, to word it differently, if you finished a dungeon and there was no loot, would you be disappointed? What if the dungeon had no puzzles?

Sorry Mavis, I'll leave it up to you to word it all better, but that's my question

One night at a local FLGS a member of my RPG group and I were playing a board game, and across the aisle from us was a group of about seven people playing D&D. They made so little noise that we could hardly hear them from only about eight feet away. He commented that "they can't be real RPGers; they are too quiet!". Our group is so loud the dead from the local cemetery complain about the noise.

How loud is your RPG group?

What interesting new words have you learnt from role-playing games?

Do you have any habits in your non-gaming life that are strongly influenced by your gaming?

That last one needs an example: when swimming, I keep count of the lengths I've completed by using the numbering of the D&D Gazetteer and Creature Crucible books.

What book do you think folks in this forum/on this thread should folks read that they probably don't know about. (What obscure/semi-obscure book do you recommend?)

(This one probably needs a rephrase before it gets used for the QOTD.)

From the thread about pricing:

Which of your books would you refuse to sell for 200$ (US)?

Which of your books would you refuse to buy again?

What is the most expensive RPG item to replace that you own?

What RPG item do you feel was the best value?

What RPG item do you feel was the worst value?

Which one is it?

I tend to prefer the shorter and more gneral questions...

1. Favorite superhero and why?
2. What weapons do you like to arm your rpg characters with?
3. Favorite movie fight scenes? Do these influence combat in your gaming?
4. What's the coolest place you've ever role played in?

I'd be happy to, if you haven't heard from anyone directly yet. You mean 29 May and 30 May, yes?
