What RPG does a good job of encouraging teamwork between PCs? And what game mechanisms help to encourage teamwork?

No peaking, if you intend to answer the question:

Did a quick browse but didn't see these; wasn't a super-thorough search, but I hope these aren't redundant...

1. You just found out that your group is going to be at least 2 players down, and it's too late to cancel. What do you do to adjust for the remaining players? Answers can include changes to any aspect of the game.
1a. Non-GMs, what have your GMs done in these situations? Did it work?

2. You have an open group and have 2 (or more) players joining than you planned for. How do you adjust to accommodate, in terms of combat, social scenes, table rules, etc.?
2a. Non-GMs, what have your GMs done in these situations? Did it work?
2b. Which is easier to adjust for on the fly, more or fewer players, and why?

Do you get rid of all your game-related material once you decide you have had enough of a specific RPG, or do you still keep it just in case you change your mind ?

What are some of your favourite novels that have been adapted into movies that all turned out to be disappointing ?

EDIT: Added the word "all", because that is really the question I had in mind.

When I retired, I decided to explore the Seven Deadly Sins. Perhaps I shouldn't have started with Sloth. It's been four years and that's as far as I've gotten.

I would ask the inverse, as it's a vastly shorter list:

What movies do you feel turned out better than the book they were based on?

When, and why, did you finally stop playing Magic: The Gathering ?

Bonus Question: What is the most commonly used Combo in Fallen Empires ?

Spoiler (click to reveal)
Most cards of that series and a trash can.

Do you find that most recent RPGs encourage social change, or do they more often defend the status quo ?

Really great topic! Maybe we could refine the qestion a bit, though.

"Which RPGs did you find to encourage social change, and what do you think of the style in which this was pursued? Are RPGs otherwise by default reactionary or conservative? Do you think that RPGs actually change people's attitudes, or do they tend to confirm existing ones?"

That's probably too much for one question, though.

Kyōtsū no kotoba de sekai o dōomoimasuka? Asoko wa benri na omoimasuka, matawa fukusū no gengo ga sukidesu ka?

Emphasis on Common. Like Tolkien's Western language etc.

RSP...

Clearly, you have an excessively broad definition what is RSP.

The "P" in RSP is about discussions on ongoing political events, like what's going on currently at the White House, or how the Western Powers should react to a journalist murdered in Istanbul by the ruling clique of Saudi Arabia. Or, should the French President Emmanuel Macron start to crack down on the "yellow vests"? Or, should you vote conservative or liberal, and why ? Such discussions are RSP.

General discussions about the educational values of RPGs and their social impact are not RSP.

It depends on what you call progressive or retrograde and which fields you want to discuss with it.

And the question has already been raised several times in more specific terms.

It wasn't apparent in the short form of the question that "social change" is a "dog whistle" to hating on normal people who just want to live their lives. The long form has destroyed that illusion, so even if it isn't (somehow) RSP then it still falls afoul of "Statements that abuse, harass, mock, insult, stalk, demean, threaten, or otherwise belittle another user, directly or indirectly, explicitly or implicitly".

When, as a GM, you modify pre-existing scenarios, what is the most usual guiding artistic vison that you are trying to share with the players, implicitly or explicitly?

After seeing lots of disclaimers and warnings about having a comfortable, safe gaming environment, and then WhiteWolf pulling and revising their latest work, I'm curious what if any of you have witnessed as a red flag while gaming.

I'm choosing not to use the word "trigger" here, mostly because of the extreme and ridiculous ways that gets interpreted. I'm not looking to call anyone out either. I'm just curious, as a newer DM/player, what kind of situations have actually been cause for stopping, changing the subject, or calling off a game. Are discussions about that ahead of time helpful?

Do you prefer RPGs that use, as their main randomizing mechanism (excluding rolling for damage), only one type of die, and why ?

One type of die: only d6's, or d10's, or d12's, or d20's, etc.
