If this question of the day (and it is a question, or, rather, becomes one, through the questionable use of many parenthetical inclusions, comma splices, semi-colons, and em-dashes) was intended to ultimately result in the construction of a roleplaying random table (that is, a table of random entries intended primarily for a generic role-playing game - in a generic genre, though perhaps "multiversal" would be more appropriate), and assuming you would like to answer or respond to said question, what, then, would be your answer or response given some limitations (such as: your answer or response will constitute your actual table entry; your answer or response must be one concise statement that would fit on a traditional table enumeration; your answer or response might show up elsewhere); assuming you have read this far - a pretty good assumption - and understood, then now is the time to answer or respond; what is your answer or response?

Have you ever played in, or invented, a setting where the periodic table of elements was not the same as the one that we know ?

According to the UN, 2019 is the International year of the periodic table, marking it's 150th anniversary.

There will be many events, ceremonies and conferences about this topic, organized all around the world.

Have you ever played a game that significantly considered the impact of micrometeorites, either in space, or on whatever planet the setting may have been taking place, including Earth ?

Apparently, about 4,000 tons of extraterrestrial dust falls on earth every year (about 10 tons a day).
Already, this is giving me ideas for an upcoming CoC scenario ... ninja

Ok this is going to need rewording,
Question "If you have a multiple generation players at your table, how do you describe certain scenes without using adult language or without using movies as short hand?"
This problem came up with a new player. I have people from 13 to 67. And all walks of life. I tried to describe a party scene. It when like this.
It is a party like the beginning of "animal house".. New person never watch Animal house.
It is like a party like, movie x.. Again new person never watched movie x.
Ok. Do you know what a tail gate party is? New person did know a tail party was.
OK it is a tail gate party but rated adults only.
***
A tail gate party is where sports fans cook out and party in parking lot before, during and after the game.

Good question. I love where it's going, and I'm interested to hear the answers.

How about, "Do you have a large age range at your table? If you do, do you have problems with cultural references, and how do you work around that?"

I'm sure this has been asked before, but:

Do you use miniatures and a battle mat / terrain in your game? Why or why not?

When your players find something magical (weapon, item, artefact) do you reveal its mechanical properties immediately or do the players have to discover them through use?

Yep, but a long time ago. Worth a revisit.
QOTD Feb 16: Do you use miniatures, (or tokens), with your RPGs or do you prefer to keep everything in your group’s collective heads?

Agreed that it's a great question. Is it necessarily an age thing, though? Just coming at it as someone who hasn't seen a "new" movie in probably five years now.

Here's one. As ever, apologies if it's been dealt with in past Qs otD. The backlog at this point is more than a little intimidating:

"I was recently surprised to find there are numerous playable races in 5e that I was unaware of, many of which seemed to have interesting lore surrounding them. What are your favorite races in RPGs beyond those we're used to seeing in fantasy and sci-fi? What makes them your favorite and/or in what interesting ways have you incorporated their racial features and history into play?"

It's been a while since this question was asked.
QOTD Oct 1: What's your favorite non-human player character race?

Here's one. Could be fun, I think:

"If you were to stat yourself up in your favorite RPG system (your actual, real-world self), what would your character sheet look like? What stats would be high/low, what skills would you possess, and what - if any - special abilities would you have that apply to the system? If you use non-humanoid RPGs (e.g. Mouse Guard, etc.) you'd retain some sort of relative physical stats, but wouldn't be an unstoppable, monolithic colossus."

The idea is that, if my RL self got written into D&D, for example, I wouldn't be a hero adventurer. But I might fare better in RPGs where knowledge of various survival tactics is more beneficial, and where PCs aren't literal superhumans.

Alternative approach: Do you ever mentally stat up people you meet in terms of attributes, skills, advantages and disadvantages, or even character class? ("Guys, we found the bard!")

1. As a GM, do you sometimes make interruptions/intrusions which, in a way, break the 4th wall? I.e. intrusions that play with the emotions of a player as much as with the emotions of their character.

2. Have you played an RPG that uses physical objects other than dice and character sheets? RPG examples: Ten Candles (which uses... candles) or Dread (which uses a Jenga tower).
