Wait, analysis paralysis exists in RPGs? I thought it was just a boardgame thing.

Sometimes it's choosing actions (sort of traditional AP) and other times you'd swear they'd never used their sword before based on how long it takes to add their modifiers.

To what extent do you think you should talk about your mental challenges here on RPGG ?

To what extent are you in favour of hearing about other user's mental challenges here on RPGG ?

I usually get very excited during character creation, but every character I have created, never has had an ending to their story arc. Unless it involves an untimely death Do you feel this is something missing in an RPG experience, or is this something your groups offers?

I've been pondering what might be a recurring sequence of questions that break the usual mold a bit. I've been really impressed by what the collective hivemind here has generated when it's been pointed in creative directions, creating awesome dungeons, space derelicts, and stranger things. And let's admit it, every GM can use some inspiration sometimes, a jolt of something you find wickedly cool but didn't think of yourself. So what if, maybe one day each week (depending on reception, demand, and so forth) there was a QotD that crowdsourced cool ideas that could be readily dropped into a story when you need a jolt, a swerve, or are just coming up empty on inspiration?

So what I'm thinking of would be questions like:
Who are those hangers-on with the caravan?
What's the backstory of that guy in the cantina?
What's the interesting cargo listed seeking transit at the spaceport?
What was the portentous dream?
What's the NPC's weird trait?
What's the BBEG's henchman like?
What's the legendary lost magic item?
What's the quirky computer malfunction?
What have the goblins been eating?
What are the legends about the pirate captain?
What cataclysm wrecked this world?
What's the vista through the portal/mystic mirror/etc?
What's in the guard's pouch?
What are the rumors about this mercenary company?
What's in the iridium case?
What's the story of this detention facility?
What's the story of the unconscious guy in the alley?

Humbly submitted,
JJW-T.C.H.

Jackasses? You let a whole column get stalled and strafed on account of a couple of jackasses? What the hell's the matter with you?

What is your favorite quote from a rpg session?

What rpgs or settings did you find unexpectedly fun to play (and what is your go to game)?

What rpgs or settings were surprise hits at your table? Why?

Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

What is the most under-rated rpg on rpggeek or rpg.net you play regularly?

Do you play a particular rpg besides Pathfinder, D&D, or Cthulhu themed games regularly? If so, what?

In what way, if at all, do real-world cultures other than your own feature in your RPG sessions? How do you handle such representation for a culture with which you might not be particularly familiar, or does the RPG itself handle that for you (being set in a different culture)? Does it matter if you get it right or not?

Have you ever been in a rpg adventure where agriculture, craftsmanship, or some other form of actual work played a prominent role? (as opposed to looting dungeons and getting money from rulers)

Dressing as your character, creative fun or just too dam nerdy?

What is Merry the mimic pretending to be today and why?

How much combat to roleplaying per session is the right balace?

How much does the gm look to the players for story hooks in your group?

How much does the reputations that the characters develop in the setting effect how the gm has others (NPCs) interact with them?

When the gm has a theme for his new game, do you make a character to fit it, or one to stand out? -( Example: game is set in historic ancient china, do you make a ancient Chinese character or a roman soldier that somehow ended up far from home )

A question like this was recently asked:
QOTD MAY 24: What do you look for in an actual play podcast or livestream?
