The next best thing to being at the table with your friends!

We're back! October 23rd, 24th and 25th of 2015 will see the return of Virtuacon self-dubbed as "The Best 3 Days in Virtual Gaming" and we plan on making this our best event. The entire three days are setup like a real convention - with speaking panels, contests, tavern hangouts and, of course, tons of gaming. Our theme this year, being so close to Halloween, is a blend of horror and post-apocolyptic fun.

You are free to run any game you like - but be aware that some games will be more popular than others. As cool as a My-Little-Ponies-Cthulhu crossover is, it might have a more limited pool of players than a traditional Dungeons & Dragons 5e game. We encourage games that are outside the norm - but if you want to ensure your games are brimming with players, you'll have to do a good sell-job on your game pitch!

GM Sign-Up Checklist - Here's what you need to do...

Preliminaries
1. Have an RPG Geek Account. If you don't, simply Register (free). You will need this to post your game pitches to this thread as well as answer questions which might come up on your game (when we start player-sign-ups starting in September).
2. Have a G+ Account. If you don't you can create one.
3. Join the Virtuacon G+ Community. The use of Google Hangouts is required for this event.

Pitch Your Game by making a post below this one (do these steps for each game you are running)
1. Pick the Time Slot (see next post) when you will run your game and how long it will run (in 2 hour blocks... so your game can run 2,4,6 or 8 hours. We are limiting games to 8 hours max).
2. Select the Game System you are using (i.e. Shadowrun, D&D 5e, Pathfinder, FATE, etc.)
3. List the max number of players you will accept at your table (do not list a range - assume your table will fill).
4. List the experience needed to play - we're only using a binary system here. No Experience Needed and Some Experience Needed are the two choices.
5. Determine if your game will run "on-air". In this case, the game will be broadcast and saved on YouTube so that others can watch it (yes, even at a later date). On-Air games are, by default, 18+
6. Determine if your game will be open to anyone or if the game is 18+ (Mature/Adult).
7. Create a Description for your game. We need a short sentence to sum-up the game and a longer paragraph or three to share what your game will be about. Generally the more descriptive the quicker your table will fill... but don't go overboard. Soon you'll see plenty of examples below and you should follow their lead. Feel free to use images from our database.
8. Provide us your G+ username (if you don't feel comfortable posting this to a public thread, just geekmail me the username or send it via email to dave@rpggeek.com ... we need this as a point of contact on G+ Hangouts)
9. Post all this information below by replying to this post (allowing for the G+ username to be given via geekmail or email - see #8 directly above).

Recommended, but Optional:
1. Attend one of the Technical Testing Sessions to ensure your hardware setup will work as desired. Technical Testing Sessions will be coming online soon - and will be promoted via the Virtuacon G+ Community (among other social media networks and, of course, right here on RPG Geek).

Follow-up
1. In early September (but not before), we will ask you to create your game on the +RPGGeek community. We want to get everything locked and loaded and cleaned up before we start listing the events on G+.
2. Promote your game (and VirtuaCon '15) through any social media venue you have access to. We have a number of awesome Virtuacon '15 Promo Images you are free to use. When linking back to Virtuacon, please use the master URL which is https://www.rpggeek.com/wiki/page/Virtuacon15
3. Generate Pregen Characters (Optional, as needed) for use during your game. Except for games where character generation is a big part of the interaction in the game, we recommend pre-gens be provided so as to get players into the game quickly.

Optional
1. Create a Roll20 Account to use for your games if virtual table-top mapping is required.
2. Verify that you can use Dice Stream or similar dice-rolling app within G+ Hangouts. It's also fine to allow players to roll actual dice using the honor system.

For those signing up, we've got some cool virtual swag:
mb - Virtuacon '15 - Oct 23-25th, 2015 at RPG Geek!
mb - Virtuacon '15 - Game Master

And look for the organizers by their green badge:
mb - Virtuacon '15 - Event Staff

And, to sweeten the virtual pot, this year we are adding real virtual prizes (plus an oxymoron!) for each 2+ hour game that is run at our event. You can see the full list of prizes from our Virtuacon Prize Table.

Feel free to ask other questions below - don't be shy... we want to help!

Deadline for GM Signup is 01-October-2015

Note: Most European countries move their clocks back an hour at 2am local time on Sunday 25th -- be aware and plan accordingly. The displayed slot times above are all accurate and take into account the changes already. When you book your time on G+ it will automatically adjust for local time so no worries there. Whomever decided to run this convention on the weekend when some countries change their clocks should be tarred and feathered. I'm lathering up now.

The convention ends at 22:00 UTC on Sunday25-Oct-2015 and so this final Time-Slot Z can run a game that is no more than 4 hours in length.

Evil Sorcerers never know when to quit. One particularly evil and powerful Sorcerer named Malloc has finally created a blend of pseudo-science-magic to jump through time. But it has caused an unbalance that will throw the Earth back into a second darkness. Thundarr, and his band of allies; Ookla the Mok and Princess Ariel ride to save the day. The problem: their assault on Malloc fails and they are thrown back from his powerful magic. Thinking quickly, they use the Evil Sorcerer's power to their own benefit - they travel back two weeks in time to meet with their former selves and mount a double-team comeback/throwback against Malloc.

This adventure will feature a dual set of characters for a total of 6 players. Is the world ready for two Thundarr the Barbarians?! We will find out on the 24th of October! This adventure will be whimsical, tongue-in-cheek and totally gonzo. If you are looking for something more realistic, this isn't the adventure for you!

If we know we're running, but haven't decided what (I won't know exactly until we do the City-Building exercise) could/should we add a dummy entry for the game below in order to show which slots we're planning on running in?

Sure, feel free to add a placeholder entry. Or wait - your call. You can edit your entries right up until the deadline. I'm hopeful to see our first batch of Virtuacon GMs show up - I don't think I can run 26 games

PS: I've been asked and yes the Thundarr game is happening at that time slot.

You're typical Japanese schoolgirls getting ready for a typical day of secondary education at a typical Japanese high school. That is, of course, if your value for "typical" includes random superpowers, crazy teachers, and dead rock stars suddenly showing up on campus for no apparent reason.

Everything about this game is randomly generated on the spot. Your characters, your teachers, the class schedule, the wacky events that come out of nowhere -- everything.

"This isn't another disciplinary meeting. This is absolutely your last chance. I've got all my good officers tied up on these missing persons cases and my best investigators trying to figure out where all these counterfeit Converse All-Stars are coming from. So I'm pooling together you bunch of misfits to track down this new drug that's showing up on the streets. Stuff's called Bow-wow. It's cheap, it's a quick high, and the kids are all crazy for it. Literally. They use it a couple of times and before you know it, they're jumping off buildings, throwing themselves in front of buses, and generally making a mess of our fair city.

"So I'm giving you reprobates three days. THREE DAYS, DO YOU HEAR? If you haven't tracked down where it's coming from by then and made a good clean bust with enough evidence to prosecute, your done. FINISHED!!

"Now get the hell out of my office. You're stinkin' up the joint."

You are faeries -- immortal, magical nature spirits who like nothing more than to cause hilarious trouble for other people. You gain special powers from dressing up in silly clothes, because you aren't bright enough to know it doesn't work that way. You aren't malicious per se, but your mischievous ways tend to at best inconvenience the Big Folk....

You've been summoned away from your world to Broadway, where The Dwarven Prince and the Witch Queen is the latest musical waiting to take the Great White Way by storm. Your mission? See to it that Opening Night is also Closing Night! It seems a bit wrong to sabotage so many people's hard work -- who are we kidding? It's Broadway! The bright lights! The big city! An Audience! Before you're done this will be a night everyone remembers! (Except you. Fairies have horrible long-term memory.)

Also, Dave, I hope you're running Dinky Dungeons, as I really want to play it this year!

It's become tradition... though I have 3 other games (including the aforementioned Thundarr game) I want to play. I'll be in attendance all 3 days but not sure I can run 4 games. Hmmm...... hard decisions

We’re playing Soviet women in an all-female night bomber regiment during World War Two. We’ll be pilots, navigators, mechanics and political officers.

Our mission is to harass the German army, which has invaded our country. The war is brutal and horrific.

We fly obsolete biplanes and drop bombs or, when we don’t have bombs, railroad ties on the Germans. Things are desperate. It is incredibly dangerous. We fly in darkness, sometimes a dozen missions each night.

The Soviet army wishes we didn’t exist and nobody expects us to succeed. We are going to succeed anyway.

A word of warning: Be aware that this is a game about personal drama in an all female environment. There might be sexual or queer content - I will check with players before the game starts whether they feel comfortable with that kind of content or whether they prefer to leave it out of the game.
