I know there's not much tonal range in the original but at the bigger size it's more obvious.

Can you lighten the badge and/or throw a little more contrast in? (I feel it's a little dark).

Consider one sold. I could do with more badge slots so I can have more than 5 microbadges on display at a time.

And making the 'W' white instead of transparent. If it is transparent? It looks like that on my screen.

These RPGG genres do not have corresponding microbadges:

History (Alternative)
Holiday-Themed
Horror (Zombies)
Science Fiction (Hard Sci Fi)

I propose that garion be forced to make them, since they all use the same distinctive blue-indigo flavour.

Two badges could do with slight name/MO updates:

mb should be "Culture (Asian / Far Eastern)"
mb should be "Social (Relationships / Romance)"

No, it's white-ish.

I would make it actually white instead of white-ish, considering it's for the White Box

It looks a bit too grey instead of white.

In proper usage as I currently understand it, oriental is used as an adjective to describe objects of Asia, such as oriental rugs. It is considered outdated, or at least slang, to use it of people.

Perhaps it is still applicable in this instance if the word "culture" is considered to be a construct instead of a people, yet the terms "Asian" and "Far Eastern" also work, since it is the current name of the genre.

{Arg. So many edits. I need some sleep.}

Hm, okay. I've always thought "The Orient" was simply another name for the Far East, so Oriental and Far Eastern is the same. And indeed, "culture" is a noun, not meaning "people".
Shame, I always liked the word Oriental.

Lightened the hex a little so the tree stood out more and rotated the hex slightly so that it fit better in the wrench.

It feels too dark. How about going with a paler wrench?

I was going for a forged iron wrench with the darker color, but the lighter one does look better.

Ahem. A little front story first.

I run the Banner Makers .

We are a few RPGGeeks that have volunteered considerable talent to produce artwork for fellow geeks in the play by forum. Our image gallery is where all the banners we have made for PBF player are located. As you can see, in the gallery, we have been VERY busy producing banners for PBF.

When the new player PBF initiative that kicked last year, we were VERY busy producing banners. Now another PBF initiative is starting and I expect the demand to pick up again.

Here is a sample thread of a PBF game with banners in full use.

I spoke with Kattvippa earlier this year about this and she agreed to permit one award for the Bannersmiths. This award will be for those Bannersmiths who produce 10 or more character banners for other players. I have a number of potential awardees so far and I would like to encourage more to participate.

I would like to base the microbadge off our current guild mb.

mb Our Guild microbadge.

For the Bannersmith Award, a gold version. Which is best, full gold, keep the red banner, or a more brilliant gold (like some of the other gold award badges)?

or or or

Edit: fourth option: Brilliant gold and red banner.
