The above is the last scheduled article on our calendar. Any articles brewing out there?

I thought I'd been given 1st September, but I'm happy to have a bit longer - I've got the article more or less mapped out in my head, but not sure when I'm going to have the time to commit it to paper!

So if there's a 1st September and 15th September slot claimed, I'll take 1st October. No article title yet, but the theme is how to make defeats and setbacks entertaining rather than frustrating for your players.

You had said, "maybe September", so I figured you would be okay with being bumped.

if BFL wants the 15th, I'll happily fall back a slot...

I'd say whomever has an article completed by then. If you both have one ready before the deadline, I'll let you work it out.

Bigfluffylemon had offered an idea about something like "setbacks are not the end of the adventure".

Then come the Deluge (from french proverb roughly saying "after all this, nothing can come after me but the Deluge").

Article about using end of the world in games?

Actually, the saying is "après nous le déluge" and it means "as far as I am concerned, the world may perish after I am gone." Not the most social thing to say

Interestingly, according to Wikipedia it was also the motto of the Dambusters. That gives it a totally different meaning!

I know, this is my language, but I did not want it to be too harsh in this context.

Which would people prefer an article about?

1) "Giving It The Super Touch" - Style tips on differentiating Fantasy and Supers

2) "On mind control, charm, and social skills" - Tips on common activities that restrict player autonomy

3) "Giving It The Romantic Touch" - Style tips on adding love and romance to any genre

Jackasses? You let a whole column get stalled and strafed on account of a couple of jackasses? What the hell's the matter with you?

Mind control, charm, and social skills. That's a neglected part of RPGs and one that can always use good commentary.

I'm with Robb and BFL, Eric. I think 2) (mind control etc) is a great topic for an article. That being said, I would also love to see you do the Romantic article at some point as well.

I would find it nice if anyone with lights on a special job would write something on it and how it is actually different from "Hollywood/Hong Kong/Bollywood" clichés.

Maybe a collaborative one?
