Good! I plan on starting with some definitions and a genre discussion, followed by a general outline of intrigue/politics, and then some tips and tricks. A mention of mechanics, of course...

I started outlining my article and it is a BIG topic. I am sure I will miss something, so I will welcome your questions!

I'm still keen for my November slot. I doubt it will be as excellent as DMSamuel but I wanted to look at the difference between PbF and F2F and what a DM should do/adjust.

I'd be up for this.

I have been thinking of writing a very long post anyway, so why not under the BTS banner?

It would be about rolling, well, behind the screen, especially with regards to the DM rolling for the player, covering points such as metagaming & trust in the DM, and would be a bit of a thought experiment, taking the issue to its logical conclusion.
It would even touch a little on old-school vs new-school, mentioning D&D's history and other games, but always with that rolling behind the screen context.
As I say, it will be long

Do you want this under your BTS banner?
I do have an opinion on this, which will shine through, and that's what's making me hesitant to just say "sign me up", but I'll constantly provide alternative perspectives, and would not say my way is the only way. As I say, it's mostly a thought experiment to kickstart discussion.
Does it cover too many topics at once? I don't mind posting it independently, as such.

December would be good for me as well as it gives me a long time to type this, as I will be busy. But I could definitely get it out in time for December 15

Sounds great, Tom. You're scheduled for December 15th!

How you present the article, and how much you break down the topic is up to you. There's nothing wrong with presenting a biased view on the given topic, in fact I expect that will be the case is each and every article. We aren't explaining rules here, just giving insights to how each of us approaches the role of GM.

Thanks for joining in!

Jackasses? You let a whole column get stalled and strafed on account of a couple of jackasses? What the hell's the matter with you?

I have a topic that I think would make a fun BTS article: "How to write a fun, engaging multi-player LARP." What do you guys think? Would you like to see that?

Let's see... I think an initial stab at topics to cover:

I. To LARP or Not To LARP: What's LARPing good at, and what doesn't it do well?

II. How to structure a one-shot game for many players.
a. Economy of stuff
b. Actions in-game
c. Wherever you go, there you are

III. How to run a one-shot game for many players

There's probably more to cover than that, but that's my initial proposal (that I will think on for a couple of months.)

Currently, yes.

However, as a result of an Initiative game stalling, I was informed that Duty's Fist has not logged in for almost three months.

Hopefully, he will return, but everyone who is scheduled after him, especially Matt Downey, should be aware that their scheduled date may move up if he does not return!

I'm wondering if I should come up with a short paragraph that each BtS author would add to the bottom of their post to include the links to this thread and the suggestion box thread?
