I'm sorry to report that my ice guy left the choujiu sasparilla project. There's still about half the ice that hasn't been completed. I'll have to do that myself now.

Someone asked about the smell. Now that you mention it, it is rancid. I'll fix it in layout.

GMS was highly productive yesterday. He managed to get Captain Kirk to respond to him twice on Twitter.

I can't seem to find the post that set GMS off. However, it is interesting to see that when confronted with a celebrity, GMS backs down and is a bit polite. Unlike how he treats those that as about Far West.

Probably this article set GMS off:

Is the Shat still someone's hero? He's been behaving badly for a very long time. I suspect anyone who stills holds him in very high esteem either hasn't been paying attention or agrees with the Shat's perspective.

Its very likely that Shat doesn't run his own SM, much like Takei doesn't run his own.

I think the problem with fandom is equating the actor with the character they play.

While the future in terms of economics and inequality in Star Trek TOS and TNG do conform with the principles of Marx's theory of justice, there is nothing about the character of Captain Kirk that suggests SJW to me. Now, Captain Picard I think would be more in line with GMS views.

I have to say that Kristian Nairn is a very mellow person. While a lot of other actors were freaking out for not being paid at a con, he just hung around and talked with people. He accepted from FB friend requests from people he talked with after the on.

GMS is participating in RPG a day for August. This involves him putting a video of himself of twitter.

Just thought people would want an update on the 'process' of making Far West. I guess we have more transmedia now.

For a moment, I thought you were talking about his RPG production rate, which is currently closer to "RPG an epoch".

Speaking of that, today's RPG a day post contains some hints that the epoch is coming to an end . . .

As brought up above - some people recognize there's a difference between a character in TV shows & movies and the actor who plays it. Others don't.

Picking up on a comment on KS, I have the following question:

What Monty Python Sketch does GMS/Far West Kickstarter remind you of? I am thinking the argument clinic.

The Dead Parrot - Far West is, after all, just pining for the fjords.

Not sure there is enough material for one per day. But in that spirit:

So this is GMS excuse for failing to do the RPG a day thing. Given all of the excuses he has for not doing this, what is your favorite GMS excuse and why?

I have to go with the first... the classic... From December 2, 2011:

Quote:
Second, the printer we've chosen for production is a smaller operation, and recently informed us that they'll be closing up shop for the holidays -- so we were faced with a choice of having to rush to get things done beforehand, or delaying until afterward.

You know what I forgot though? The first reason mentioned directly before the printer holiday closure:

Quote:
Our art director, Rick Hershey, recently suffered a family tragedy, and so we've given him some more time to get the art done.

It wasn't even necessary to mention the printer!

This is when I knew the project had gone sideways.

Interesting. It is like he overcompensates with excuses. It is kinda like a tell.

So it would have been nice if I had the choujiu sasparillas ready to go today. They aren't.

I ran out of money, but don't worry. I've partnered with a publisher in the UK. I'll still be writing the recipe, but they will be taking over the bartending and service. I'll be announcing our actual, Honest-to-Seven-Hells, no-foolin delivery very soon.
