This is the main OOC area for my Adventurers League Tomb of Annihilation game.

Discuss some character ideas here. We'll also "muster" here; since there are two different games worth of players here, we can form ourselves into parties and then head out in the the jungle!

I'll also get a little deeper into AL specifics here.

Some of your restrictions:

-No Neutral Evil or Chaotic Evil characters. If you want to make a Lawful Evil character, talk to me first.
-No character options from Unearthed Arcana articles (unless it's officially made it into a printed book)
-No options from the DMG.
-If you want to play one of the monstrous races from Volo's, that's OK! But there are some story restrictions. I'll cover those later today.

It seems like lots of people expressed interest in the hardcover, which is sweet! Only seven spots, though, and I'm taking folks in a first-come, first-served manner. I might juggle some people around, too; I don't want to lump ALL of the new(er) players in the same group; having a party of mixed experience with both D&D and PbFs seems to work best.

That said, I do think the AL modules look *really* well done this season. You can take a look at what's in store here: http://dndadventurersleague.org/storyline-seasons/tomb-of-an...

I think with running two separate groups, there might be some opportunities to switch groups. Which could be really fun.

I'm fine starting with the AL games. My problem is I want to play ALL THE GAMES.

I like your idea of switching between the two if it works out.

I'd prefer to play the hardcover, since I'm already in two of your other AL series games.

Also, it's fairly likely that I'll get to run the hardcover for my IRL group in a year or so (when we finish our current campaign). I'd love to get to play through it first here!

Once we get divvied up into the hardcover / AL adventures groups, I'll create another OOC thread and Geeklists for the two groups.

So, here's how I have it split now:

Hardcover group

pdzoch
glweston
mvillalo
Jethreal
SolidsState
Magellan1
Downeymb

AL adventures

iamrubocop
Withywindle
gonecase
onlyanton
jmayDET
ZorroElite
Snardo

If something is grievously wrong, please let me know! As some of my players can attest, I miss important details a lot

If you desperately want to move from one group to the other, say so!

Well, co-run; I play as a player just as much as a DM in that game (the other DM has been playing since the late '70s!).

All right, I created ANOTHER OOC thread for the people playing the monthly Adventures League adventures. Thread is here: https://rpggeek.com/thread/1847476/ooc-al-season-7-tomb-anni...

This existing one will become to OOC thread for the people playing through the hardcover campaign/adventure/whatever.

I'm very excited!

In terms of character ideas, I think I've fleshed out my initial notions a bit. Under the theory that basic chars are frequently just as useful in their direct way, and that I haven't been steeped in the nuances of 5e, mechanically, I'm thinking a life domain human cleric. That seems both useful, and thematically appropriate to be investigating a "death curse" impacting revival. Alignment: NG

I have quite a few notes for him personality-wise, but I thought it might be more fun to do characterization in-game, particularly if we don't already know each other.

If anyone wants to make another character from the same church, I welcome it. Any with life-domain that has human members is fine.

//Edit after looking at deities: I think Lliira would be about perfect for this char, considering some of his physical notes are already "wears too much jewelry" and "bright colors".

Sweet, a life domain cleric in the house! That will open up some alternate, less healing spells for me (I'll probly take one anyway to help out though, goodberry or something)
