Jackasses? You let a whole column get stalled and strafed on account of a couple of jackasses? What the hell's the matter with you?

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fjGSnNimv0dwe6bNFlefxisQo9...

Voting has begun!

In order to vote:

1 Download the files for all of the entries, and give them a good read.

2 Decide on what order you think the games should be ranked, from best to worst.

3 GeekMail your decision to me (quick link).

Voting algorithm

All registered users are eligible to vote. You can change your mind if you want by sending me an updated order of voting, but only if you do so before voting closes.

The contest will be decided by Single Transferable Vote (the same method as before). This is a voting method that is not possible (yet) using the poll functionality on this site, which is why you need to send me your votes instead. I will then count up the results in order to determine the winner.

The only information I need for your vote is a list of the games in the order that you think they should end up. You do not need to list all entries in your vote, but please list at least four entries as there are places for four winners. Listing fifth/sixth/etc. choices helps when the voting is close.

For full disclosure, I will be using the Droop quota with surplus votes reallocated through proportional allocation similar to the Gregory method.

Timeline

Deadline: Tuesday, December 4th, 2018

There are lots of games to read, and it takes time to digest them all and decide which is best. The voting period includes three weekends, so there shouldn't be any problems. Just in case, I'll extend the above deadline if I think that I haven't received enough votes (I'd like a minimum of 15 votes, at least as many as the number of contestants). If it's close to the deadline and you still need more time, let me know (by posting here) as that will affect my decision to extend the deadline.

Questions

Please ask any questions in this thread.

The vote-counting mechanism is ideally suited to this type of contest, but is complex and so I won't be surprised if there are requests for further explanation.

An answer to one important question that keeps cropping up:
Please wait until voting is over before posting any reviews of the games (we want people to vote based on their own opinions and not be unduly swayed by the thoughts of others). Session reports and PBF games are okay; play these games!

You should definitely review all of them and cast your vote. Send me a voting list! The more voters we get the better the results of the contest.

One more thing I didn't mention in the original post:

I have a submission in this year. To ensure the integrity of the contest, I am ineligible to receive a prize. You may cast a vote for my entry, but if I place in the top four in the contest any GeekGold will slide down to another entrant.

Are we going with the typical rule of not publishing reviews until after the voting is complete?

Like most things on RPG Geek, this is an honour system.

I don't see any reason for you to be disqualified from winning, if yours is one of the top entries.

That was ... surprising. I rated some games really highly that go against my regular playing style, so I learned a thing or two.

Four more votes in. Total of 8. We still need about ten votes to have robust results, and really I think that 30 or 40 total votes is much preferred. So get your votes in!
