No, not that either. OK, here's an extended clue that is a bit more specific (having got past the "guessed first time within half an hour of posting" that I've had before!)

In prison awaiting execution, a serial killer recalls their past crimes. Though they are certainly guilty, it could all be said to have been in a noble cause.

He's not in prison or awaiting execution, though.

OK, another clue.

All of the murderer’s victims are from the same family.

I never saw that movie.

Nevertheless, I immediately recognized it from the synopsis.

I haven’t seen it either, but it’s a very distinctive description.

OK, next one.

When a woman awakes from a coma, her family conspire to make her believe she is still living under a communist regime in case the shock of political change should kill her.

It's actually one of my favorites, and I'm annoyed I didn't check the thread soon enough to guess it. "What are you playing at?" "Words! They're all we have to go on."

Sounds like Kieslowski's White, though I can't remember if he gets revenge on Julie Delpy or not.

Three colors: White it is! And yes, he gets his revenge. The wife ends up in prison.

A hired killer waiting for their next assignment befriends a young girl who turns out to be the subject of interest to two warring groups of assassins.

By way of a hint, I'll say this movie was both a critical and commercial failure and has been justly mostly forgotten, though both the character and lead act(or/ress) have lived again in other places.

Jennifer Garner. Terrence Stamp. That's pretty much all I remember.
