This show was a spin-off of a popular science fiction franchise, but was much less popular, itself, and was short-lived. The most prominent character was an artificial life-form, who was affiliated with a teenage girl. There was a cult in this show.
Belying their hayseed demeanor, this title character from the American South is nonetheless a Harvard-educated defense attorney who will take the case if 1.) they think you're innocent and 2.) you have $100,000. Known for their distinctive fashion, they would often expose the real perpetrator of the crime in a climactic trial scene.
