Jackasses? You let a whole column get stalled and strafed on account of a couple of jackasses? What the hell's the matter with you?

So, if someone is taken by one of these ideas then I encourage you to put that contest out and ask people to participate in it. There's room for more of these kind of contests on RPGGeek. I'm willing to help people structure them and to provide support.

If it catches your eye, go make it happen!

Dave ran a one-page RPG contest for Virtuacon several years ago. I thought that was a lot of fun. I think he also did a one-page encounter contest at some point that was fun. Limiting the scope helps people participate, I think.

I was thinking something along the same lines. Very short encounter or maybe dungeon puzzle contest. That way everyone of us can steal those lovely ideas and easily incorporate them into our own games! devil

I'd like to see a contest for the best fantasy shop boxed text (written description to be read to players verbatim). Set an arbitrary word limit (~200). Enter as many times as you want! Top 5 get GG. All submissions CC-BY and get dumped into an online random fantasy shop generator. Does it have a sign out front? What do they sell? What's it look and smell like? What's the proprieter say when you come in? What're they famous for?

My previous character in Nobilis was the 'god' of adult-onset diabetes. You have now given me an even better idea for the next one.

Nice! I'd go for 700 words, plus headers/title. That'll fit on one sheet (two pages printed back-to-back) and still have room for a small illustration and header on each page, giving necessary white space while saving paper!

So this would be setting only, with no mechanics?

I like it.
