Some people call this junk. Me, I call them treasures.

So, the other thread was deleted. Sorry about that. When I told LASH about the suspicious user, I didn't expect that the whole thread would get taken down.

I remember that at least Pestigor and Shiva666 had listed some of the manga and anime that they liked. As someone who likes manga and anime, I appreciated that they had done this, as I would later be able to reference the thread for recommendations. However, now that it's been deleted, this isn't possible, so I'm starting this new one for people to recommend manga and anime to each other.

There are many anime and manga that I like, but for now, I'll just re-post the links to the videos that I had posted in response to Tomcat1304, when they said that they liked some kinds of graphic novels, thinking that there might possibly be manga that they'd be interested in, but they were unsure where to start. I'm aware that these are just top 100 lists and that they don't provide detailed descriptions for any of the series, but they can be helpful for learning what's popular, and you can seek information about those series, from there. The end of the 2nd video also includes a chart that shows which popular anime you're likely to enjoy, based on other popular anime which you've enjoyed.

Strong language warning for each of the videos:
The OFFICIAL Top 100 Manga Of All Time (According To The Internet) Is Actually Surprising...
The OFFICIAL Top 100 Anime Of All Time (According To The Internet) Might Surprise You...
The Top 100 Anime of All Time (According To Japan) Is Impossible To Predict...

I'll have to log off soon, but I might find time to provide more specific recommendations at a later point.

Sorry again for the ineffectiveness of my helpfulness.

It's incredibly grim and certainly not going to be for everyone, but for a very interesting twist on the typical 'Magical Girl' anime, I strongly recommend Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken/The Time I Got ReAnimated as a Slime

I love the way it lampoons RPGs. Sure, many shows poke that bear, but this one does it well.

Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san/Skullface Bookseller Honda-san

I love the way this feels real and surreal at the same time. Nice short manga read, but cool short anime watch too.

It depends on what the person I'm recommending to already likes. I'd probably be able to find some Studio Ghibli for most anyone though. Anime as a blanket recommendation... I'd avoid that, as a lot of anime gets weird quick, and again, you need to find a reasonable genre and possibly good art and story.
