I was 100+ off in my estimate...

I have enough.

(I realize that's a foreign concept to some of you, but it's true. I really do have enough dice.)

I'm probably on the low side of 200-1000, unless you count the ones in board games (I won't).

Not that many actually. I regret every single book lost in my big RPG purge about a decade ago; I do not however miss a single die sold back then.

Building my RPG collection back up, I've only purchased the dice I need and been happy.

I have exactly 155, apparently.

This thread has also made me feel much better about the two sets I bought when I popped into the local shop for some card sleeves last Friday.

I have more custom dice than that...
3 sets of 10 each for FFG L5R (5e) 30
9 sets of FFG Star Wars dice (14 each) 126. 1's missing, so 125 present.
3-4 sets of FFG WFRP dice (over 40)
9 sets of 4dF each.

This doesn't count the various "Logo=1" or "Logo=6" dice, or the special ones for The One Ring.

IIRC, just over 300-400?:

7 polyhedral sets (49)
5 fudge dice sets (20)
Council of 5 Nations (con) 40th anniversary dice (5)
2 pirate themed d6 (2)
72 Robotech d6 from the KS (36 Zentradi, 36 UEDF)
2 GW d6 cubes (52 d6 and 2 scatterdie)
16 d6 sets for Battletech movement markers (48)
A large sack of d6 from random origins (and left overs from bulk bag on the the movement set purchase) for Shadowrun and other games (~50?, who knows?)

Plus what ever is in all the boardgames...

Oh, almost forgot, probably a hundred of those micro d6 from the Pirates CCG game with the styrene ships.

I've got 8 full sets, plus a few individual d20s, 8s, and 4s I bought from bins at game stores and something like a dozen, probably more, d6s I got from a third edition box set of the Champions RPG.

Today, I personally own one full set of polyhedrals, a dice ring (2r6; can't find my 1r20 and 4rF), and a box of Fudge dice. I might have another full set of polyhedrals lying around somewhere, after having pulled them out of my main set, before I lost it.

I lost my main set. It was in a satchel with some RPG books in my car when my car was broken into, and was taken, never to be found. This set consisted of the two full sets from my original Red and Blue Basic D&D boxes which I bought in the 90s, along with assorted extras I'd picked up. The loss of my work computer was a much bigger pain, and the iPod touch I lost was more expensive, but losing the dice still makes me feel bad, even though I rarely play RPGs face-to-face anymore. I don't even recall what RPG books I lost, though I think it was my Fiasco books, because I also lost the set of light and dark dice I'd bought to play that.

I guessed at under 1,000, but if I did a count and included board games, I'd probably be in the next tier. I doubt I have over 5,000.

I carry around 7 sets of 7 dice for D&D. But I have another 5 sets of The One Ring and several sets of Star Wars RPG along with one specific to Genesys. My wife's MLP dice sets. Plus at least another dozen generic sets to loan when people forget theirs. Not to mention the starter sets that come with their own sets. Forgot about the PolyHero Dice. So that's well over 200, if not 300, there alone.

Then all the spare d6's I bought for Axis and Allies throughout the years, the custom Arkham Dice we did years ago. Just about every game that comes with dice, I have tried to buy extra sets (all the Commands & Colors, all the FFG miniature games). Numerous "promo" dice form conventions. The pound of dice my wife bought.

I have many sets, as I require a different set of dice for each RPG... but these, these go from set to set, game to game:

I don't think I have more than a thousand, but it's probably close. I bought a bunch of Chessex 36-packs when I ran a lot of Mouse Guard, so that everyone could have dice in their own color. (When you help another mouse, you physically give them a die to add to their pool -- and since you have your own color, you can see if you actually helped!)

Excellent idea! If my group ever cracks open Mouse Guard (a gift to one of us last year), then I will be sure we use this idea.

I have 54.333333333 dice (I have 89 dice, but 36 of them are 5mm d6).

At last count, about 10 years ago, roughly 3,500. My guess now would be about 4,000.
