Besides the Wrestling Warriors stuff, the only other print item where I'm the sole owner is the Kata Kumbas Primer. I'm pretty sure it was free at Gen Con one year.

My oldest RPG item appears to be Monster Manual (AD&D 1e). Wait, it's a printing from 1979, so that would also be the same year as Treasury of Archaic Names.

On the board game side, we have a copy of Scrabble from the 60's. We also have an incomplete version of Spare Time Bowling that had my wife's aunt on the cover. That was likely from the 60's too.

Monster Manual II (AD&D 1e) is probably the oldest gaming item I own.

Don't think I own anything that would be classed as obscure.

You know, I simply gave directions on how to sort your collection by number of owners but hadn't done it myself. Ignoring PDFs, the only hard-copy item I'm sole owner of is Drawing Your Alter Egos. This is not surprising, as it's by Kelly, a local friend of mine (first artist for Sherpa) who self-publishes. I doubt there are more than a score of copies in existence.

White Death looks pretty good. I never played (or want to learn) full on Mythras or the predecessors but I might give Mythras Imperative a try some time.

Oldest is pretty easy to determine:

Tactics II, produced in 1958.

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1574/tactics-ii

More obscure is harder to pin down, because one's obscure is another man's commonplace.

I would say that Queries n'Theories, by WFF N'PROOF Games, is probably "obscure" to most people here on RPGG.

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/11845/queries-n-theories

The cool thing, is that this game still exists, and can be bought currently on the internet.

https://www.gamesforthinkers.org/all/scientific-reasoning/qu...

cool

The rules are pretty clunky compared to what is currently considered to be "good design", but you can simply play to figure out the secret rule, without going into the micro details of counting points and such.

By any chance, can you make a comparsion between Queries 'n Theories and Zendo?

Oldest: probably my 1979 D&D Basic Set (with chits).

Most obscure: probably Sword's Path — Glory, Book 2: Role Playing; I seem to be the only RPGGeek user who owns it. (And it's deservedly obscure, as noted in this thread.)

I usually find something in such lists that I just haven't bothered to mark as owned. Not on this list. The closest was Book of Exalted Darkness, but I have that for SotDL instead of 5E.

1978 Gamma World box set with the original "soft" dice is the oldest I know.

It's possible that some of my Dragon's and/or AD+D books are older, though I bought them later.

Obscure?, probably some of the random fanzines or quickstarts that I've managed to collect. Maybe the large TSR store sign of "Your Adventure Begins Here!".

Actually, it's probably the TSR "newspapers" that the bookstores used to distribute. I still have a few.

(I have a lot of random crap.)

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay - My oldest and most well-loved game. I still have the copy I bought in '92. It's packed away right now so I can't post a picture but that book along with Warhammer Companion have been beat to hell over the years. I'd still play that game to this day, though.

I also have a Rolemaster boxed set but I have no idea what version it is. I think it's from 1989, so the same age as my Warhammer book but I've never used it.

As far as obscure, Crawlspace Gothic? Threshold: Tragic Superheroes is probably up there and one an old GM of mine made (Devon J. Kelley). I play-tested it back in the day. Good premise but I'm not sure how much it changed from when I played it last.

During the late 80s (maybe early 90s) I had a set of book dust jackets, meant to be wrapped around books, and which turned your book into a famous Lovecraftian book (Necronomicon etc.). We used such books as props during out CoC games.

These days, such a product wouldn’t make much sense, since it’s very easy to download some images yourself, print them, and make your own faux book cover.

Nevertheless, I always wondered who had made those covers. I’ve never seen them since, and since I don’t remember the ‘official’ product name, it’s a bit hard to search for ‘book covers for call of cthulhu’, which turns up a lot os useless links.

I always thought this was a very obscure product, with a very limited printed run, but maybe I’m compeltely wrong ...

Hardly obscure - one of the biggest distributors of the 90's (Chessex) still sells some.

I'm not a hoarder, if it looks like I'm never going to get any use out of an RPG again I either sell it or give it away. The exception to this is dice (I mean, who buys second hand dice?). My dice box is crammed full of all sorts of dice, gathered over 30 years of gaming. Many of them I have no idea what game they're from or why I have them (e.g. one black d6 that has a white star instead of a 1 and a little map of the world instead of a 6).
