Linked is a page showing some 2D6 (in one case 2D7) Hex Flower game engines that I’ve stumbled across.

It is interesting to see the direction people have gone with this idea. I think this reveals how useful and flexible a tool it could be in procedural adventure.

My sticky paws were into making straws out of big fat slurpy treats - incredible eight-foot heap / Now the funny glare to pay a gleaming tare in a staring under heat involved an under usual feat

What other regular polygons would be useful?

Seems like a square grid isn't as good because there's not as many options and there's less apparent interplay.

I know you can't really do a soccer ball pattern on flat paper, but the 5x6 polygon might be an interesting approach for an e.g. sports theme.

How would an octagon with square grid change up the results?

Interesting idea.
Now I want to map this thing onto a D20.

As some have asked, I made a template Hex Flower.
