Our local public radio station here in the Twin Cities kicks ass! (89.3 the Current) On Saturday they played 64 David Bowie songs IN A ROW to celebrate his 64th birthday. So I filled my Bowie fix.

I feel a Peter Gabriel fix coming on...

I've been listening to a lot of Sisters of Mercy lately. And adding in Robert Duncan's Gunfight Epiphany for good measure.

Oh, I've listened to more local talent from Atlanta, Georgia.
This Night Driving in Small Towns' breathy chorus goes, "How can I love a serial killer?/ How can I love a serial killer?/ When you kill me every time..."

As we had a snowstorm today here in eastern MA, I've been listening to a Led Zeppelin bootleg often called 'Four Sticks in the Snow' from Madison Square Garden in February of 1975 when the place was only half full due to a huge snowstorm that hit the place that day. Fortunately, the taper was one of the few that made it in.

Lots of classical and jazz instrumental lately - relaxing holiday music.

Recently bought Meatloaf live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and enjoyed it greatly.

My son only lets me listen to the soundtrack from Batman: Menace of the Music Meister in the car at the moment.

Hmm... the track listing on jukebox on my work machine says:

Mamma Iuto Joe Hisaishi Porco Rosso
We Want A Rock They Might Be Giants Flood
Presence II Joe Hisaishi Robot Carnival
Amate Adea Adiemus Songs of Sanctuary
Santa Christa Denis Hysom & Dan Alvarez Ocean Planet

Pretty much same as always.

The car stereo never really strays off the local classical station.

Lots of 80's music this week. DVR'd 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 80's from VH1 Classic before Christmas, and I've run all five hours many times since.

I've always assumed that Cthulu, and probably all the Old Ones, would listen to breakcore or at least dubstep.

Lol. I like both and breakcore is actually my favorite genre.

Edit: Eldercore!

Neon Trees, Black Keys, Cage The Elephant from a rock station I stream constantly. Now playing: Technical Itch (old D&B) - Killabytes LP, probably still my favorite buckle-down-and-work soundtrack.

on my MP3 player - Guster: Easy Wonderful and U2 All That You Can't Leave Behind.

On another note, Matt picked my 3 favourite Beatles albums. I would place Revolver at the top, but can understand why others might prefer Rubber Soul or Abbey Road

I've been listening to seminal 70s power pop: Raspberries, Badfinger, Big Star; as well as some 90s adult alternative (Gin Blossoms, Toad the Wet Sprocket). Add to that Guster's Keep it Together and Heaven is Whenever by The Hold Steady and that pretty much sums up my recent playlist.

I have been more than slightly obsessed with the Bioshock 1 & 2 soundtracks of late.

Actual music though, it's pretty much Carissa's Wierd on repeat on my end. Amazingly enough, the I does come before the E.

Weird.

And today's morning music included Crime and the City Solution, Mick Harvey, and some classic Rush.
