Currently reading Thousand Sons, then on to Nemesis.

Both are in the Horus Heresy series of books.

As I'm not working at the moment, I am reading ten or fifteen books a week, many of them non-fiction and many of the rest romance novels. of the rest... what have I liked a lot recently?
Gail Carriger's Soulless, the first in the Parasol Protectorate series. Vampires/werewolves/etc in an alternative height-of-empire Victorian era. I think I'm going to get ahold of the second in this series soon and see if it lives up to the promise of the first one. Witty and a well-imagined world. Too many books that add supernatural creatures don't really follow through on the social changes they add to a society, and I think Carriger is clearly trying to explore the ramifications while also presenting an interesting, well-paced story.
Karen Rose, Silent Scream. Everything she writes is engaging, and while some of the guys here might be put off by her label of romantic suspense, her books contain very plausible (in the sense that they have complex motivations beyond being 'evil' and often have highly developed business plans and support networks) and very scary contemporary serial killers, arsonists, human traffickers, etc.

I don't have time to read novels...I listen to them on my iPod while running. Recently, I have made it through The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and then The Children of Hurin. I think that I'll probably listen to Ender's Game next.

I'm in a huge novel slump. The last thing I tried to read was The Lies of Lock Lamora by Scott Lynch... and for the second time I put it down unfinished. I literally can't remember the last non-RPG book that I finished.

Interestingly, I also tried twice to read it, because it was highly praised by a friend of mine, and twice I put it down.

This was the first Chabon I've read. It has me tempted to try other books by him.

I just finished The Unit: Lock and Load. For a novel based on a cracking show, it's pretty awful. A pretty dull tale, with a really poor portrayal of the characters. Would not recommend.

Now I'm reading Stella Rimington's Present Danger, which I'm quite enjoying.

Last, Current, and Next
Last Read: The Mark of Nerath by Bill Slavicsek
It was pretty generic fantasy.

Currently reading: The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
It's my first time reading it and I haven't seen the movies either! Currently halfway through the Return of the King!

Will Read Next: This is a three-way tie between the following:

China Dawn by David Sheff

The Dark Elf Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore

Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott

Be sure to read "The prefect" and "Chasm city"!

Not sure if I have got them, I think I grabbed three or so collections of short stories the last time I was at my FLSFBS. So if they are not short stories I probably don't have them (yet).

I've just finished the first book of The Morningstar Strain. IT started out real good, but ended up being really silly. I don't think I'm going to pick up the sequel.

I've started reading a book called "Zombies for Zombies"

So far, it's been great fun (about 1/5th of the way through, I think.).
