The time has come for the entries to be revealed!

We have 11 entries this year, which is 3 more than last year, which is fantastic.

The entries are:

d10-0d10-1Train, Hell, M1944 (generic) - Jason Morningstar (jmstar)
d10-0d10-23:16, For Halloween (3:16: Carnage Amongst the Stars)- Felbrigg Herriot (FNH1)
d10-0d10-3The House (self contained) - Chad Bowser (cjbowser)
d10-0d10-4Resurrection Mary (self contained) - Scott Slomiany (ghostOfChristmas)
d10-0d10-5All Hallows' Eve (Call of Cthulhu (2nd - 6th Edition)) - Tyler Hudak (trevlix)
d10-0d10-6Romero, TX (Fiasco) - Don Gardner (iuchiban)
d10-0d10-7Like Stealing Candy... (Colors of Grey) - Jacob Wood (munkwunk)
d10-0d10-8Witches in the Dream House (Dungeon World) - Shawn McCarthy (shawnssica)
d10-0d10-9A Song of Sixpence (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game) - Kyle (Mulligans)
d10-1d10-0A Little Slice of Haven (generic) - Jason Hanks (Wired_Wolf)
d10-1d10-1A Night in the Lonesome October (generic) - M. B. Downey (downeymb)

You can download them all here: HAC2012 Entries (zip file)
HAC2012 Entries (dropbox folder)

Voting

Each individual that chooses to vote can vote for first, second, and third place. For each first place vote, an entry will receive 3 points, second will receive 2 points, third will get 1 point. I will add up the point totals for each adventure and the top three will be announced as the winners!

In the event of a tie, the entry with the most first place votes will be declared the winner. If this does not break the tie, I will cast the deciding ballot.

And as a reminder, the prizes are:

d10-1 $100 GC for DTRPG plus 32
d10-2 $60 GC for DTRPG plus 49
d10-3 $40 GC for DTRPG plus 81

How to Vote

First, download the zip file of all the entries - HAC2012 Entries and read them all.

Second, send me (Bazin) a Geekmail with your selections for First, Second, and Third place. If you so choose, you may decide to decline to vote for second or third place. Also, in your Geekmail, tell me what holiday you'd like to see featured in the HAC2013!

Third - wait and see who wins!

I will tabulate the votes and announce the winner sometime after 17:00 MDT on October 24, 2012 12:00 (NOON) MST on Monday, October 29.

Good luck to everyone and Happy Halloween!

Stupid questions:

Is voting open for anyone or just those who submitted entries?

Should we not vote for our own entries?

Or, at least, that's what I'm supposed to say.

Anyone can vote.

If I start getting a bunch of new users voting, I may start investigating the "realness" of these people...

You can vote for whatever entries you like, be it your own, or someone else's.

Can't unzip at work. The files that is. Hopefully I can at home, but I think I got rid of the program for that. Idk. aaaarggg, I want to read them NOW!

I doubt I'll vote for myself, as I doubt that I'll feel I have one of the top three. I just plan on voting for the three best. If I was one of those, I would surely vote for myself, but I don't think that will be the case.

What kind of "publicity" does this get ? As far as how many members actually see the post, read the files, make the votes. Is the number of voters usually close to the number of entrants, or do a lot of people get involved in the voting ?

Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, which is from a Dilbert cartoon, of all things.

"There are no stupid questions? That's ridiculous. What kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?"

I had 23 total voters last year (or, assuming all the entrants voted, 15 non-entrants that voted).

Also (Bob shall correct me if I'm wrong) you may submit your entry to the DB as an RPG item.

Let me see if I can figure out how to share the folder with the masses, without the zip file needed.

Is that a dropbox problem? I can throw the file on some personal space that I didn't want to suck bandwidth from but can give out the url on a case-by-case basis.

I've added a link to the dropbox folder directly where you can download the pdfs individually.

I dunno?

It looks like dropbox the site itself won't load here, so I'm guessing that's the problem.

Support comes in many forms: community involvement, forum posts, submitting data, running PbF games, word-of-mouth advertising, financial donations... All these are vital to this site, and you have my sincere thanks for participating in any of them.

If you'd like, I can set up a mirror of the file on stelio.net? I've got paid-for professional hosting so I'm not at all worried about bandwidth. I can delete the file when the voting period ends.

yeah, I've only read through three of them so far, but there's some great stuff in there. Gonna be a tough decision to make for top three, I think.

I may run mine as the originally envisioned Dragon Age adventure. Just wish I had more time available to put some polish on it.
