I thought so. I would've definitely remembered those. I've been meaning to download that once my next payday comes in.

There seems to have been a lot of killing going on, maybe people will need to pray to Zemox for solace or revenge.

Re: Stragglers table
Now we just have to decide which way all these relationships go

I think for me the necromancer and killer of joes lover seems to work, or maybe I'm the toady who killed for his master.

Re: Stragglers table
For me Alex looks more like the toady with Neil being the Necromancer.

This is because Neil's Warfare relationship with Peter (thus killing Peter's brother in this line of reasoning) point more to Neil as the Necromancer and Alex, being a slimy toady, somehow ended up killing my lover...

OR, I, being the deserter from the battle I am, somehow ended up killing Alex's lover - making his miserable underling life even more miserable whistle

Thy "lies" and "get out" properties between Alex and Neil seem perfectly fine given their character nature.

The Church of Zemox also fits between Neil and Peter and the killing of the brother (as perhaps a sacrificial offer for a necromancy act).

My "minotaur" thing with Peter also fits well, with us being soldiers of a sort, trying to redeem our past...

Am I the only one seeing quite some reason in all this????

However, how the chicken fits in all of this... ninja

Re: Stragglers table
Ha excellent, I can't fault any of that. I do like playing snivelling underlings. Perhaps the chicken can be my weird little goblins lover that you killed, that way it's a little bit more circular with our relationships. And adds more different angles to team necro and toad, not just us killing the deserters loved ones. I like having the potential for team ups and double crossing by any and all.

Yeah I think that's the only change I'd make to Joes interpretation.

Unless anyone drastically changes the dynamic, I'm Gortbork the goblin and do the bidding of my master, Lord Marduk. I've been secretly in a relationship with my master's highly trained chicken familiar, Poyo.

Re: Stragglers table
Barring any significant change, as Al also voiced, I will be the brutish orc Durbag, voluntary survivor of many battles and hero of all of the stories that never were.

Oh and I have a love/hate relationship with chicken - I hate to eat them but I love to kill'em!

Re: Stragglers table
I love the idea of that sacrifice! Here's what I got for my character. I am always open to suggestions so this is all tentative.

Joe and Al I think your stuff is great and I wouldn't touch a thing.

I am Lord Marduk, Bloody Acolyte and keeper of the Temple of Zemox the Bloody. I know what Durbag and Peter's character have done during the Great Battle. I have decided to give them a way to reclaim their lost pride: Defeat my Minotaur. However, as is always the way the vile old Marduk, all is not as it seems. Only my faithful Gortbork has been witness to the truth. But good luck getting him away from that Poyo...

Re: Stragglers table
When Peter has put up a little character description we can head into act 1 scene 1 I believe Neil is first.

Do you guys know about establishing and resolving scenes?

Re: Stragglers table
Here's the extent of my knowledge:

If you choose to establish, you get to setup the scene for the character you are playing. That includes choosing what other characters are involved (if there are any), where it is, what's going on, etc. When establishing, the other players decide whether the scene is going to end badly or good. For good, it's a white die. For bad a black. In Act I the die are given to another player. In Act II they are kept.

If you choose to resolve, you predetermine the good or bad outcome. The other players decide how it all plays out.

Let me know if there is any more that I don't know. I know there are tons of fun alternatives.

Also, I tend to be a more open player. If I have a great idea that will throw everyone for a loop, I won't spoil it. However, I really like to make sure the story is as crazy as can be so I may ask for some input on establishing scenes. If you guys would rather me tone that down let me know.

Re: Stragglers table
Well, this is my first PbF Fiasco so I'm a bit iffy about how it all plays out in this setting. Like do I say one line, and then another character jumps in?

I think the best way would be to post some links to a few games. I'll post a few examples for you when I've had dinner.

Re: Stragglers table
here you go, a few games. Hopefully that'll give you some help deciding your first scene. Creating the first scene can be a little daunting but feel free to do whatever you want with the it.

Re: Stragglers table
Is this more of an inspirational problem with choosing the scene content?

Maybe we could all throw in ideas and you, Neil, can then establish the first scnene more easily...

Re: Stragglers table
Good idea, Ok hmmmm rough pitch 1.

Lord Marduk is meeting peter and his brother(a role up for grabs). Peter is there to find out how he can get glory for his family, and perhaps the price will be quite high!

or

Marduk is having to have a awkward conversation about how Gortbork is spending a little too much time with his familiar.

Re: Stragglers table
Oh the latter was always part of my plan. I had an idea of having peter and Joe's character together. Basically going through my knowledge of their desertion but also establishing their interests, namely the deaths of their loved ones. I had all sorts of magical holding spells and such in my head...a flashback with my toady and the cchicken is happening but its not time yet.

When in doubt, I use my film school fundamentals. But I really like all the ideas you guys came up with too. I think we're really going to have a good game once we get going.
