[User Summary]:
The second Steel Panthers game focuses on modern battles, from 1950 to 1996. The game scale is the same (units are squads, support weapon crews and individual vehicles), with lots of new features to cover modern warfare: guided missiles, helicopters, jet fighters...
The gameplay is the same as the first game (turn-based, on a map divided in hexagons), with minor improvements to the user interface and graphics.
The game includes stand-alone battles of the modern era (battles from the Vietnam war, Korea war, French operations in Africa...), six campaigns (first Iraq war, the 1973 Israeli campaign on the Golan Heights, Korea 1950 and fictional campaigns simulating a Taiwan invasion by the Chinese army, a Warsaw Pact offensive on Germany in 1980 and a war between USA and Japan for the control of Okinawa in 1998), a random scenario generator, as well as a scenario editor, a map editor and an encyclopedia of armed forces for over a hundred countries for players interested in creating their own scenarios.
