Team17 Software is a video game company currently based in Ossett, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. They are best known for developing the Worms series of games (initially developed by Andy Davidson), but they have made many other games, notably Superfrog and the Alien Breed series. Most of their early releases were on the Amiga home computer system and featured trademark smooth scrolling, and detailed cartoonish pixel art. However, they now develop for Windows PCs and video game consoles.

Controversy & Feud With Amiga Power Magazine

During the 1990s, Team17 had a feud with gaming magazine Amiga Power. The magazine consistently rated Team17's games as average, which the developer saw as inherently wrong. Team17 put several easter eggs in their games:

• Typing "AMIGAPOWER" into Alien Breed 2 would display a message criticising Amiga Power's review policy.
• Computer players at the easiest difficulty setting in Arcade Pool, F17 Challenge and Kingpin: Arcade Sports Bowling were named after Amiga Power staff members.

Team17 eventually accused the staff members of Amiga Power of corruption and taking bribes. Team17 refused to supply review copies of games to Amiga Power and filed a libel action demanding the magazine stop "lying about their games, provide the addresses of their staff members and the people or companies that bribed them". Without any evidence to back their claims Team17 was forced to withdraw the lawsuit.
